This song came out of frustration. I was trying to make a song idea work, and was failing. Everything was coming out TOO metal. I stopped. I reassessed. I thought about the kind of riffs and grooves that more are in Frankie’s wheelhouse. And I thought: Aerosmith. So this is my take on an Aerosmith-ish riff.

Separately, a friend of mine had jokingly mentioned wanting to do a song called Tough Titty. I knew he wasn’t serious, so with his permission, I stole the idea. I thought having something more fun and light-hearted on the album might be a good idea.

This song is deliberately rougher than the others. We went for a loose, raw, attitude over the kind of glossy production we have on the other tracks. I even kept my lead guitar parts from the original demo (noise, clams and all) because they had exactly the right attitude and feel.

There's an art to knowing when to be less perfect for the good of the song. And we're all a little rawer and less perfect here. Except for Jordan. He's always fucking perfect!
